Arabella Plouviez is Head of Photography at the University of Sunderland in the UK, running this small but dynamic department, housed in the Northern Centre of Photography, which provides BA, MA and PhD level study in photography. Before working in the university sector, Arabella spent many years working in community arts, providing access to photography for a range of communities and developing exhibition and publishing projects.
Arabella has, with colleagues, been instrumental in setting up a photography research centre at the University of Sunderland, including the International Photography Research Network (IPRN) and the North East Photography Network (NEPN).
